Pollentek Dry Sift Tumblers Explained: PRO vs LITE vs TRIM

Pollentek Dry Sift Tumblers Explained: PRO vs LITE vs TRIM

Choosing the right dry sift tumbler comes down to the way you work, the amount of material you need to process and how much flexibility you want from your equipment. The Pollentek range from Squish Tech offers different solutions, from straightforward fixed-mesh pollen tumblers to versatile machines with interchangeable micron screens and adjustable speed control.

With 150g and 500g capacity options, the range caters to smaller batches as well as larger processing requirements. There are three main models to consider: PRO, LITE and TRIM. Each has a different purpose, so understanding the differences will help you choose the right machine for your setup.

What Is a Pollentek Dry Sift Tumbler?

A dry sift tumbler is a rotating drum machine that separates fine material from dried plant matter using a mesh screen. As the drum rotates, material passes through the screen and collects in the tray beneath the machine.

The micron size of the mesh determines which particles can pass through, making screen selection an important part of the process. Different mesh sizes can be used to suit different separation requirements.

The Pollentek range offers several ways to configure your equipment. The PRO features an interchangeable micron mesh system, the LITE provides a simpler fixed-mesh alternative, and the TRIM is designed primarily for dry trimming while retaining the option to fit compatible dry sift mesh.

Importantly, you are never locked into the original barrel or mesh you purchase. Replacement barrels and compatible mesh options are available separately, allowing you to expand your setup without buying another complete machine.

Pollentek PRO vs LITE vs TRIM: What's the Difference?

The most important distinction is how each machine handles mesh selection, speed control and its intended application.

1. Pollentek PRO: Maximum Flexibility and Control

The Pollentek PRO is the flagship model in the range. It is designed for users who want more control over their dry sift processing without the inconvenience of buying separate complete machines for different micron sizes.

Interchangeable micron screens

The PRO comes with four micron screens: 45, 73, 160 and 220 micron. The 160-micron screen is fitted to the barrel, with the other three supplied as additional screens.

The interchangeable system allows you to switch between compatible micron sizes without replacing the entire drum. This is particularly useful for users who want to experiment with different screen sizes or adapt their setup to different materials and collection requirements.

Adjustable speed control

The PRO features adjustable PWM speed control, allowing you to change the drum's rotation speed to suit your working preferences. Rather than being restricted to a single fixed speed, you can fine-tune the machine's operation as part of your processing setup.

Built for regular use

Full metal bearing construction supports durability and dependable operation. The removable collection tray provides convenient access to collected material and simplifies cleaning between runs.

Manufactured in the UK and backed by a three-year limited warranty, the PRO is designed as a long-term equipment investment.

Why choose the PRO?

The main advantage is versatility. Having four micron screens and adjustable speed control included gives you more options from the outset. You can change compatible screens without buying a complete replacement barrel every time you want to work with a different micron size.

The PRO is available in two capacities:

2. Pollentek LITE: Straightforward Dry Sift Processing

The Pollentek LITE range is designed for users who want the core functionality of a dry sift tumbler without needing interchangeable screens or adjustable speed control.

It retains the practical design and durable construction of the range while simplifying the machine's operation.

Fixed micron mesh

Unlike the PRO, the LITE uses a fixed-mesh barrel without an interchangeable mesh system. You select your preferred micron size when ordering, with options including 45, 73, 160 and 220 micron.

Once selected, the mesh remains fitted to that barrel. If you want to use another micron size, you need to replace the complete barrel rather than simply swapping the screen.

However, you are never limited to the micron size you originally purchase. We sell additional compatible LITE replacement barrels separately, allowing you to purchase other micron sizes whenever you need them.

This means you can start with one barrel and expand your selection over time, without having to purchase another complete machine.

Simple fixed-speed operation

The LITE operates without adjustable speed control. This makes it a straightforward option for users who are happy working with the machine's fixed-speed setup and do not require the additional control provided by the PRO.

Practical construction

The LITE retains a removable collection tray for convenient collection and cleaning, alongside durable construction, UK manufacturing and a three-year limited warranty.

Why choose the LITE?

The LITE is a sensible choice if you want a dedicated dry sift machine with a specific micron size and do not need to swap screens regularly. Its simpler design means you are not paying for the interchangeable mesh system and speed controller included with the PRO.

You can still expand your setup by purchasing additional compatible barrels separately, giving you access to other micron sizes when required.

Available capacities:

3. Pollentek TRIM: Designed for Dry Trimming

The Pollentek TRIM models are designed primarily for dry trimming, helping separate excess leaf material from dried flowers. They offer a different application from the standard PRO and LITE pollen tumblers, with a replaceable mesh system that adds flexibility beyond trimming alone.

The TRIM range is planned for launch in December 2026.

Additional compatible trimming meshes and barrels can also be purchased separately, giving you options to expand or replace your setup as needed.

Removable trim collection tray

The integrated, removable tray provides convenient access to the material separated during trimming. It can be removed for collection and cleaning, helping keep the process straightforward.

Optional dry sift capability

Although designed primarily for trimming, the replaceable mesh system also allows compatible dry sift mesh to be fitted separately. This provides an additional use for the machine without requiring you to purchase a dedicated dry sift tumbler as well.

Browse our Pollentek Replacement Barrel Filter Mesh to find an additional mesh for compatible dry sift processing. Dry sift mesh is sold separately and is not included in the standard trimming mesh options.

Robust, uncomplicated operation

The TRIM models use heavy-duty metal bearings and a fixed-speed design. There is no dimmer or adjustable speed controller, keeping operation straightforward. Like the rest of the range, they are made in the UK and carry a three-year limited warranty.

Why choose the TRIM?

Choose the TRIM if dry trimming is your main requirement but you also want the option of using the machine for dry sift processing with compatible additional mesh. Its replaceable trimming mesh offers flexibility without requiring you to purchase multiple complete machines.

The 150 and 500 models share the same basic design and features, with processing capacity being the main difference.

Pollentek 150 vs 500: Which Capacity Do You Need?

Once you have chosen your preferred model, the next decision is capacity.

Specification 150 Series 500 Series
Maximum stated capacity Up to 150g Up to 500g
Best suited to Smaller batches and lower-volume processing Larger batches and higher-volume processing
PRO version Available Available
LITE version Available Available
TRIM version Planned Planned

The 150 series is ideal if you work with smaller quantities and want a compact machine. It offers the same fundamental model choices as the larger range, without requiring you to invest in the 500g version.

The 500 series is designed for users who need to process larger quantities. With a stated capacity of up to 500g, it offers more than three times the nominal capacity of the 150 series, making it worth considering if batch size is a priority.

Remember that stated capacity is a maximum, not a guarantee that every batch or material will be best processed at that amount. Your working load will depend on the material and your process.

Replacement Barrels and Mesh: Expand Your Setup

One of the key advantages of the Pollentek range is that you can expand your setup over time. Purchasing a particular model does not mean you are locked into its original configuration.

We sell replacement barrel drums and compatible mesh options separately, allowing you to add other micron sizes or trimming options without purchasing another complete machine.

The differences are straightforward:

Model How to change mesh options
PRO Swap compatible micron screens using the interchangeable mesh system
LITE Purchase an additional compatible barrel with your preferred micron mesh
TRIM Replace the trimming mesh using the retaining clips, or fit compatible dry sift mesh

For the LITE, additional complete barrels are particularly useful because they allow you to move between micron sizes while keeping your original barrel available for its existing purpose.

For the TRIM, the replaceable mesh system allows you to change trimming mesh sizes and, with the appropriate compatible filter mesh, use the machine for dry sift processing as well.

For all models, check the specific barrel, screen and machine compatibility before ordering. Not every barrel or mesh is necessarily interchangeable across every size and model.
