Bubble Washer Machine & Bag User Manual
This guide will walk you through the proper setup and operation of your bubble hash extraction system using a washing machine and filter bags. Following these steps will help you maximize yield and maintain extract quality.
📦 What You'll Need
-
Ice water washing machine
-
Set of bubble hash bags (micron filters)
-
Wash bag for plant material
-
2 or 3 large buckets (5-gallon recommended)
-
Clean, cold water
-
Plenty of ice (preferably crushed)
-
Spray bottle or water lance
-
Metal spoon or collection tool
-
Parchment paper and pressing screen
-
Optional: more buckets, you cant have enough!
❄️ Preparation & Setup
-
Set up the Washer:
-
Place your washer on a raised surface (like a crate or bench) in a cold room or cool environment.
-
Ensure it's on a stable, waterproof surface with good drainage nearby.
-
-
Insert Bubble Bags into Collection Bucket:
-
Line your bucket with bubble bags starting from the smallest micron (25μ) at the bottom to the largest micron (e.g., 220μ) at the top.
-
Make sure each bag sits with a gap against the previous to avoid cross-contamination between layers.
-
🌿 Loading Plant Material
-
Prepare Your Plant Material:
-
Place your material (fresh frozen or dried) inside the wash bag.
-
TIP: Tie the drawstrings of the wash bag to the washer lid's zipper or hook to keep it in place during agitation.
-
-
Pre-Soak (Important for Dried Material):
-
If using dried plant material, pre-soak for at least 30 minutes in cold water before starting the cycle.
-
This prevents contamination and allows trichomes to separate cleanly.
-
🌀 First Wash Cycle
-
Load the Washer:
-
Place the tied wash bag into the washing machine.
-
Fill the washer about two-thirds full with cold water.
-
-
Add Ice:
-
Place a layer of ice on top of the wash bag to:
-
Keep the bag submerged.
-
Lower the water temperature.
-
-
Continue filling until you reach the washer’s fill line.
TIP: Avoid using ice cubes during agitation. Instead, use crushed ice in small amounts throughout the cycle to maintain a low temperature and minimize plant matter contamination though the ice mashing up the material.
-
-
Start the Cycle:
-
Turn on the washer for the first wash. Cycle times vary by material type and quality.
-
Recommended starting cycle: 10 minutes.
-
Observe agitation. If needed, adjust time in future cycles.
-
⏳ Post-Wash & Settling
-
Let the Mixture Settle:
-
After the cycle completes, allow the mixture to settle for 20–30 minutes. This lets trichomes sink to the bottom, improving collection efficiency.
-
-
Drain into Filter Bags:
-
Position the washer’s drain hose above your bucket lined with bubble bags.
-
Let the water drain fully through the filter bags.
-
TIP: If your filter bucket is small, you may need a second bucket to catch overflow.
-
-
Re-clip the Drain Hose securely to the washer once drained.
🔁 Second & Subsequent Cycles
-
Prepare the Second Wash:
-
If you have a second bucket, pre-fill it with cold water and ice for rapid reuse.
-
Pour this cold water into the washer to begin the second cycle immediately.
-
If not, repeat the previous loading process, including pre-soaking and ice addition.
-
-
Start Second Wash Cycle:
-
Wait for ice to melt , then start another 10–15 minute wash cycle.
-
Continue repeating this process until no more trichomes appear in your filter bags.
-
💧 Washing & Collecting Hash
-
Process Each Micron Bag:
-
Once all wash water has drained, begin collecting your hash from each bubble bag, starting from the top bag (largest micron).
-
Use a spray bottle or water lance to gently rinse the contents of each bag. This helps:
-
Push trichomes through the screen.
-
Remove any remaining plant material.
-
Separate different micron layers cleanly.
-
-
-
Collect the Extract:
-
Use a metal spoon to carefully scoop the collected hash from each bag.
-
Place the extract on parchment paper or a pressing screen to dry.
TIP: DO NOT RUSH THIS STEP Thorough rinsing is key to reducing contaminants and producing cleaner, higher-quality hash.
-
🔁 Repeat as Needed
-
Continue running additional wash cycles as long as you're collecting trichomes.
-
Most material yields well for 3–4 washes, depending on quality and freshness.
🧼 Cleaning & Storage
-
Immediately rinse your wash bags and bubble bags with cold water after use.
-
Do not use hot water or detergents.
-
Hang bags to air dry thoroughly before storing.
-
Store in a dry, cool location, away from sunlight.
✅ Tips for Best Results
-
Keep it cold: Consistently low temperatures are crucial for preserving trichomes and avoiding contamination.
-
Gentle agitation: Over-agitation can break down plant material and reduce quality.
-
Organize by micron: Label collected hash by micron size to track potency and texture.
-
Work in batches: Use multiple cycles for best yield.
- Cut out microns: You don't need to use every micron to get the best results. 25 is often missed out completely. Please take time to research different techniques online.
